What is Herbal Medicine?
Herbal or Botanical medicine is using plants to support health and well-being. Plants can be taken internally as teas, tinctures and food. They can also be used topically in creams, salves and washes/baths. Herbal medicine has been the basis of medical treatments through most of human history. It is a beautiful way to bring us back to our roots.
Why do I love herbal/plant medicine?
It's ancient, beautiful and is more than meets the eye. It works on so many levels for a more wholistic approach.
Physically plant medicine relieves aches, pains, itchiness, digestive distress and heals many acute ailments.
Mentally plant medicine creates space, allows stillness, reduces stress and helps us adapt to whatever life sends our way without harming us further.
Spiritually plant medicine brings ritual and ceremony, a deep connection to nature and can draw us inward for deeper healing.
Plants are also gentle teachers. They have a knowing like nothing I have ever experienced before. I am so grateful to have found them and to be able to work with them daily.
